Golden Horn “Utter Reality EP” Review

My first impression of the Golden Horn is an ambient, psychedelic band from the Middle East. Their latest recording is the “Utter Reality EP”, will grow on you and bring you to a place of tranquility.

Go Back is the first track, which set’s the tone for the EP. You can hear the musicianship and passion throughout the song. The theme is it’s hard to go back. Arpeggio starts of with a catchy acoustic introduction then goes into the verse. There is an acoustic solo that finishes the song off very nice. This song is about nature. Hopeful Screaming is the final track. The song starts off slow then picks up into a psychedelic roar. The theme is to not disrupt nature.

The vocals are very unique. They have a distinct range.

The instrumentation is excellent. Each part plays its role in sync. This is an EP full of acoustic guitar solos, bass rhythms, and technical drums.

The lyrics are very psychedelic and nature driven. They challenge the listener to find their own meaning.

I would rate this EP a 3.8 out of 5. This is a great start and will bring joy to the listener.

My favorite track is Arpeggio. I love the guitar solo and vocals on this track.

You can purchase Golden Horn‘s “Utter Reality” on iTunes, watch a live performance here, and listen to the full EP on Soundcloud.
