No, this is not a dream. Taking On Poseidon really is releasing their new EP “Daydreamer” tomorrow! If you haven’t pre-ordered it yet, get your head out of the clouds, go to their webstore and buy it now for a mere $4.99!
It’s both crazy and awesome how much support this band is getting! Even Bryan Stars showed his allegiance by premiering the lyric video to “Serpents” on his YouTube channel! Judging by the comments (see the snippet to the right), a lot of people agree; it’s an amazing single and built a lot of hype for “Daydreamer.”
“I’m excited for the response on that video,” says lead singer Skylar Harpole, “we got great response on that song as a single and in my opinion it’s not even “THE SONG” from the album.” Meaning: it’s not his personal favorite song on the album. Meaning: we can expect equal or better things from the rest of the album!
“It’s a real different feel, because the way we went about writing this was just far different than we ever written before.” Skylar continued, “we’ve never had a vocalist that was so involved before. Our original vocalist wasn’t in the picture for that long, then Reyn filled in for a little while, Cory did our Afflictions EP but he wasn’t very involved musically or lyrically. When Matt came in, he had a mindset for how he wants everything to be. Even though he doesn’t write the music, he knows how he wants it to sound and he works with us on that. It’s the first songs that we’ve written where our vocalist has had such a heavy influence in the writing process.”
“Daydreamer” isn’t the only thing Taking on Poseidon has going on this month; on November 26th they share the stage with As Blood Runs Black, and on November 29th with Dance Gavin Dance right here in Austin! “I listen to [As Blood Runs Black] a lot; I rarely get starstruck but I’m pretty pumped up to be playing with them.” Skylar admitted, “they’re super talented and all the bands on the tour package are amazing!”
