Music Spotlight: Ambivalence Releases First Studio Single

For fans of this on the rise post hardcore band from Katy, Texas, this is long awaited news. In the meantime, Ambivalence has been busy with things like performing at the official Springboard South Music Festival, main stage at one of Houston’s favorite venues Warehouse Live, and collaborating in the studio. However, the wait is now over, and you can hear their newest single here.

Being a writer, lyrics almost always grab my attention first and foremost. There’s no mistaking the determined, “I’ll show you” feel of this song with lines such as, “the monster you made is about to take shape … don’t look away, or you’ll miss the end.” It seems that the tune was written with the same precise rebuttal, with fast paced, classic rock style guitar notes right off the bat, aligning flawlessly with the message seen in the lyrics. One thing I truly enjoyed about this song is the elements that paid tribute to both what would be expected from a rock/hardcore band, and the unmistakable vibe of an original, modern sound. The balance of vocals and screams is also appreciated, keeping the song from going one way or another in terms of “too light” or “too heavy.” Overall, this is a feisty, reckless and catchy tune from the guys at Ambivalence, and I am stoked for more!
