Grizzly Knows No Remorse Interview

Grizzly Knows Better

Anchor Music News had the privilege of interviewing Grizzly Knows No Remorse. We talk about their new record, musical influences, and plans for the rest of 2015.

Rob: Where did the album’s title, “Fat Glasses and The Leather Mustache” come from?
Grizzly Knows No Remorse: It’s pretty funny. We thought about including part of every one of us into the album title. Eugene (bass) is kinda fat, Andrew (vocals) wears glasses, Alex (drums) once played in a hard rock band and had been dressed in leather in one of their music videos. Vic (guitars) is trying to grow a mustache. That’s basically it.

Rob: What are you wanting fans to get from this record?

Grizzly Knows No Remorse: For the most part it’s pure energy. Positive and negative. You can break stuff or make love listening to our music – the choice is yours. Just don’t get put in jail.

Rob: Where did your name come from?

Grizzly Knows No Remorse: Back in 2009 when we just started a band we wanted to play dirty Southern Rock. We searched for a name to ideally fit this genre. We wanted something not very obvious, yet something not too complicated or dumb. That’s how and when our name appeared in our singer’s head. You decide if it’s good or not but we still like it.

Rob: What are your musical influences?

Grizzly Knows No Remorse: A lot of old school bands such as Motorhead, Guns ‘N’ Roses, Alice In Chains, and Nirvana as well as a whole bunch of modern ones – Every Time I Die, Norma Jean, He Is Legend, Gallows and more. We’re not trying to copy their tunes but to rethink and change the mix of all those bands in our own way as well as to create our own ideas.

Rob: What are your plans for 2015?

Grizzly Knows No Remorse: Right now we are trying to find a record label. The album is pretty fresh so we are planning to play a bunch of shows as well. Pretty sure we’ll make a music video and record a couple of cool live performances as well.
