Come and Rest Interview

Come and Rest

Anchor Music News had the privilege of interviewing Come and Rest. This band recently released their “Blacklist” EP on May 12, 2015. In this interview we talk about their music influences, new record, and plans for the rest of 2015.

Rob: Where does your name come from?

Come and Rest: The name derives from a bible verse that quickly morphed into more of a name where people can find comfort in. A safe haven where you can rest on us and we will say whats on your mind.

Rob: Where did you get the title for Blacklist come from?

Come and Rest: It just made sense to me. All these songs are about things and feelings you want to get rid of. Much like the bride in Kill Bill. She has a mission to cross names off her list. It is the same concept with all the problems that were ailing us.

Rob: How is Blacklist different from your previous EP?

Come and Rest: It is just better in every way. We relied heavily on pre production and every single part on “Blacklist” was supposed to be there. We also found our nitch for writing, everyone had there role and we did them to the best of our ability.

Rob: What has inspired your unique sound?

Come and Rest: Thats very flattering thank you. We just wanted to do our own thing and take risks that no one else seems to want to take. We admire european metalcore just as much as the dark pop bands out there. They molded the genre to there liking, we want to take those same steps.

Rob: How has being from Atlanta impacted your sound?

Come and Rest: To be honest not much. We love our city and the people in it. Our sound just comes from us four.

Rob: What are your plans for the rest of 2015? Getting out to as many people as possible. Touring, Festivals, Touring, hanging out, and possibly more touring.

Rob: Anything you want to plug? Thank you for taking the time to talk to me, it really means a lot. If you havent done so already, pick up our “Blacklist” EP on iTunes, Amazon or Spotify.
