Who Knew Tortilla Records Were a Thing?

tortilla-1Earlier this year some joker released a video of a tortilla spinning on a turntable whilst the Mexican hat song played in the background (lolz for days)

Well, one genius of an individual decided he was curious enough to make it happen. So he did, and now it’s a thing. And the world just keeps getting better.

Rapture Records’ tortilla record plays the same song (otherwise known as Jarabe Tapatio”) on an uncooked, flour tortilla that is described as “Edible, but burnt.” Skip to 0:25 in the video to see the evidence that his Frankenstein was successful.

He didn’t stop there though. What’s the phrase? “Give a man a tortilla and you feed him for a day; teach a man to make a record with the tortilla you give him and he will still die of starvation the next day but only after he’s had a good laugh that would last a lifetime” …Something like that: http://www.instructables.com/id/Make-a-Working-Playable-Tortilla-Record-with-a-Las/
