Dylan Lloyd, Through Hardships to the Stars

Besides having talent that goes far beyond most, never have I ever seen an artist as dedicated and loyal to their fans as Dylan Lloyd. He even shouts out one fan a week on for his signature “Fan Love Friday“, which even has it’s own website now.  All you other bands and artists take notes. Dylan seems to have the perfect formula to success. This past weekend, Chicago native singer/songwriter further proved that fact by releasing what is probably one of my favorite albums of the year. The album is titled “Per Aspera Ad Astra” which translates from Latin to “Through hardships to the stars”. I’ve had the pleasure of being friends with Dylan for a few years now and I can tell you first hand he’s no stranger to hardship. Like many other great artists, his music typically reflects the latest chapter of his life. This album in particular paints a story of overcoming the adversity of lost love that will surely hit you right in the feels. His beautiful, soulful voice blends perfectly with the groovy drum beats, tasteful guitar riffs and deeply emotional lyrics. Not to mention the catchy choruses that will stay stuck in your head for weeks and have you singing them in the shower. Track by track, the quality and flow of the album is fantastic too. Producer, Joel Tock did an excellent job. Whether you’re going through a break up, wanting some good music to listen to while you cook or simply just love music, this is the album for you. You’d be foolish not buy it.

You can find Dylan’s latest album on iTunes, GooglePlay, Spotify and all other major outlets. Dylan also has his own Pandora station you should definitely check out!

About Jacob Andrew

Jacob Andrew has had a passion for music from a very young age. Noticing a natural talent in keeping a rhythm, Jacob Andrew’s mom enrolled him in drum lessons at age six! As soon as he stepped into that music shop for his first lesson, his passion for music spread like wild fire. A few years after taking drum lessons, Jacob Andrew saved up enough to buy a guitar and started teaching himself to play. Fast forward to now Jacob Andrew can play over 10 different instruments, and is an accomplished singer/song writer!

  1. “The hard part about the professional low point and personal low point coming at the same time is that wrestling is always how I’ve dealt with personal issues. People think what we do is entertainment but this is how I express myself. To not be able to do that while going through this personal loss is very difficult.”
