What does the MIDI Pro Adapter do?
The MIDI PRO – Adapter is required for the Squier by Fender Stratocaster Guitar and Controller. Designed exclusively for Rock Band 3 Pro mode, the Squier by Fender Stratocaster Guitar and Controller allows players to play the actual notes and chords of their favorite songs while racking up high gameplay scores.

The PS3 controllers need USB dongles (included) and you can’t navigate the PS4 menus with them (you need to use a DualShock to start the game/navigate the store). They also take 3 batteries rather than 2 that the PS4 guitars take. PS4 guitars work in the menus and are Bluetooth, so you save some USB ports.

They’re out of production and out of stock most anywhere. Your best bet is to look for used last-gen wireless equipment. If you’re on Xbox One, you’ll need the wireless legacy adapter to do that, those might be much easier to find. If you’re on PS4, you just need to make sure the correct bluetooth dongles are provided.
